Village Hotel Leeds North – A Review

Village Hotel Leeds North

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Saturday night stay with breakfast in a standard room at a Village Hotel for Christmas. We decided to use it the weekend I broke up from work for half term for a truly relaxing start to my time off, and before J started cricket again and had no free Saturdays!

After looking at all the hotels, we chose Village Hotel Leeds North as it’s about 20 minutes away, however, we have never explored much of Headingley – which we now love! We also chose this hotel as it had a swimming pool, steam room and sauna as well as other leisure facilities on site! There was also a Starbucks in the hotel, which is always a bonus – I always need coffee.

I reached out to Village Hotels before I went. I received a complimentary meal as the restaurant Leeds North had a beautiful makeover the week before we went. Also, we got a room upgrade in return for a review and social media coverage.

The Restaurant at Village Hotel Leeds North

When we first arrived at Leeds North, we actually planned to head straight down into Headingly. Although, when we got inside and saw the new restaurant we decided to stay for a drink. The football was on and I was in love with the cinema style seating and huge screen! The atmosphere was really great so we postponed heading down into the town for a while.

For our evening meal, we booked for 7.30 and there was a great atmosphere as two football matches were finishing. If you don’t like busy restaurants, make sure you book your meal in for after the football. The food was amazing, we skipped starters and went straight for mains and pudding. I had the sweet potato and spinach curry and J had the fish and chips. For pudding it was a (huge slice) of chocolate fudge cake and a vanilla cheese cake.

The Room

The room we got upgraded too was a club style room – it came with many amenities such as a coffee machine, free use of all leisure facilities, and a very comfy bed! Check in was 3.00 and check out was 11.00 which was nice. Often, I find hotels with check outs about 10 don’t leave you enough time for a relaxed morning! The room was big and well decorated with a nice desk and comfy small sofa style chair. The shower was huge and had a waterfall style shower head, very relaxing! It also had a huge TV which was nice for whilst we were relaxing before dinner.

Final Thoughts of Village Hotel Leeds North

The staff at Village Hotel Leeds North were so friendly, from the reception staff to the restaurant staff. They were always checking if things were okay with our stay and food etc. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel – the onsite amenities were a added extra. We spent a couple of hours in the pool, sauna and steam room in the afternoon which was great and really relaxing! I would highly recommend staying at Village Hotel Leeds North if you every head over to Leeds – or live nearby but just fancy a night away!

Pin it for later!
